Scarlett Johansson (born on November 22nd 1984 in New York) is an American film actress. He decided to be actress when she was 3 years. But she started receiving roles in movies at the age of 8.
After she attended the “Lee Strasberg Theater Institute for Young People”, she debuted on theatre stage alongside Ethan Hawke off-Broadway in the production “Sophistry”. Her film debut was in 1994, when she had a role in “North” and then appeared in “Just Cause” (1995) and “If Lucy Fell” (1996). Johansson had her first important role in “Manny & Lo” (1996), starring as a teenage orphan sister.
She distinguished by her role in the movie “The Horse Whisperer” (1998), becoming one of the most requested young actresses in Hollywood and she received favorable criticism for her roles in “Ghost World”, “Lost in Translation” and “Girl with a Pearl Earring”. For the latter two films she received Golden Globe Award nominations in 2003.
Between 2004 and 2009, Johansson has appeared in notable films, series and videos: “The Island”, “The prestige”, “The Nanny Diaries”, “He’s not that into you”. “Saturday Night LIve” etc… For 2010, two films starring Scarlett Johansson are in post-production “The Iron Man” and “The Avengers”.
