Singer and composer, David Archuleta (born on December 28th 1990 in Miami, Florida) got a taste of music at an early age. He was only 6 years old when he earned the “Junior Vocal Champion” title in a contest for children.
In 2007, David Archuleta was the youngest American Idol contestant reaching finals. This moment was a milestone for his singer carrier and he literally charmed everybody with his voice. The show brought him millions of votes in the contest, but also many fans all over the world. A fan club had already been established by that time with the name “Archies” or “Arch Angels” (Arch’s Angels).
In May 2008, the artist ranked second in the American Idol contest, amassing 44 percent of the 97 million votes.
Archuleta’s first single, Crush, was released in August 2008. The song reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 registering sales of over 1.04 million units in the U.S. His debut album, David Archuleta, was released in November 2008 and was ranked the number two on the Billboard 200.
