Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (born September 4th 1981) is an R&B singer, designer, composer, dancer and actress. Beyoncé became known as main component of the girl band “Destiny’s Child”
After a series of successes in Destiny’s Child, in 2003 Knowles released her first solo album, “Dangerously in Love”. The album became one of the biggest commercial successes of the year, dominating the charts around the world. With “Crazy in Love,” Naughty Girl “and” Baby Boy “, Beyoncé won five Grammys in one night in 2004.
Her second album was released on September 2006, in the very day that the artist turned 25. The single “Irreplaceable” stayed on the first position in the standings in the U.S. for ten weeks. With this album the singer won her seventh Grammy Award in the category “Best Contemporary R & B album.”
Her album B’Day was relaunched on April 2007 in a deluxe edition which included a duet with Shakira, “Beautiful Liar” and other songs included on the original version and some parts in Spanish. Together with Destiny’s Child she sold over 150 million records worldwide.
In early 2009 the singer was present at the opening ceremony of the new American president, Barack Obama, where he played the recording Ettei James “At Last”.
In 2010 the singer has received ten nominations on Grammy Awards, being on the top performers list with the most references to the awards categories.
